If you have a problem sleeping at
night because the person next to you sounds like
freight train, use these home remedies to Stop Snoring. These sneaky tricks can get them to be
quiet so you can get a better night's sleep.
Those who sleep with someone who
snores lose anywhere from an hour to three hours of
sleep a night because they're woken by the noise,
have to make an effort to get the other person to
roll over, and then have to work at falling back
asleep. Not getting enough rest can leave you
irritable and grouchy the next morning. Fighting the
problem is simply exhausting.
Three Tricks to Stop Someone
From Snoring
Pillow Wedge - Gather any extra
pillows or blankets you have around the house and
keep them by your side of the bed. Once your partner
falls asleep on their side (don't let them sleep on
their backs, that contributes to snoring), stuff the
extra pillows and blankets between the two of you,
making sure the pillows are wedged in place to keep
your partner on their side throughout the night.
iPhone App - There's a great new
iPhone app out there that will alert someone when
they start snoring. Download the app and set your
setting preferences to have an alarm go off if the
app senses three consecutive snores. Place the
iPhone as close to your partner's face as you can.
When they snore, let the iPhone app tell them it's
time to roll over or do something about their
snoring. This is also a great way to prove to your
spouse that they do, in fact, have a snoring
problem. The app is called Snore U and is available
on iTunes.
Change Pillows - Replace your
partner's pillow with a snore reduction pillow. Many
of these are extremely comfortable and made with
memory foam. Hide their current pillow so they can't
switch. At most, they should adjust to the new
pillow within a couple of days and hopefully you'll
both be getting a better night's sleep at that
point.
When you sleep with someone who
snores, your own sleep is heavily impacted. It can
be difficult to convince the person with the problem
that they need to do something about it because they
often don't fully understand how much their snoring
is affecting you. There's nothing wrong with taking
matters into your own hands and make them Stop Snoring
once and for all.
